Thanks to Harry and Jamie for pulling this ride off. It was a glorious day in NYC, almost cool. The day started off nicely with an Olmo hanging off the Do Not Walk sign outside the restaurant at the meeting point. It belonged to a guy that worked there and he admired our bikes to as he set up for the 8am opening. Harry Jamie and I set off promptly (at a brisk pace) to pick up the other riders, Pied Piper style, thoughout the city. For a non-city rider like myself, the traffic jamming was a thrill (and the Brutal ride of Dangerous Death started taking shape). Harry was not joking. The pace was high and throughout the day, the old (my category)and the young had a gap for much of the route. My legs felt hammered at the end, a good hammered though. Mostly vintage iron on the ride, with exquisite aluminum vintage Cunningham the exception. I had fun doing a ride different than I normally do.
