Subject: [CR] My "Poor-teur" Build

Gang, I just posted some pics to my Flickr of a recently completed build that I am particularly proud of: my take on a mid-century French "porteur" bike...or "poor-teur" as I like to think of it, as it was built almost entirely of spare bits, hand-me-downs and parts acquired in trade. Lotsa modified parts hanging off of this circa '71 Fuji Finest, which was rescued from a garbage heap on the roof of a Brooklyn "punk house"/squat. The poor thing had been abandoned, covered in gold spray paint and left for dead before being saved by Brooklyn framebuilder Johnny Coast. Mr. Coast was kind enough to pass it on to me (it didn't fit him) because I promised him that "I had a vision for it". My "vision" has become a reality and I now have a pretty fun little "around town" bike that has already made a number of trips to the beach, loaded down with beer and a serape. Pics can be seen here:
