The headbadge on a Superior says "Schwinn Superior." The pedal threads
on the Superior cranks are 9/16", not 1/2". The cranks are marked both
"Schwinn" and "Superior" in two different places. Original pedals on
the Superior would have been Torrington. The original saddle would have
been Brooks or Mesinger. The main distinguishing characteristics of the
Superior frame are the lug-less fillet-brazed construction and ball-end
seat stays. You can see my restored '38 Superior on Wool Jersey at:

> I checked out the Schwinn Paramount Tandem racer and decided against it but in sifting through the small collection of bikes the seller has hanging from his 15 foot ceiling was suspended a Schwinn Track Bike which he swears is a Paramount, but another label on the bike says "Superior". The decals on the top tube are cut away only saying Paramount, but the down tube transfer looks original and typical of what came on the Paramount. The headbadge is a Schwinn badge but doesn't say Paramount.

The gearing is 1" skip tooth. Pedals are British and probably Lycett, but are too rusty to find the makers name. The saddle is a Wright Olympic track saddle.
