A neighbor showed me an old "Alpha" bicycle in her garage the other day. She said it used to belong to her mother, and estimated it's manufacture date as 1962.
It was a lovely, red bicycle, with "Made in England" decals. It was a roadster-style bike, with a three-speed S/A shifter, and (I think...) sidepull brakes. They certainly were not rod brakes. I suspect it is a Raliegh-made item, similar to a "Robin Hood," etc., but that is just a guess. Does anyone have more information for me?
