Personally, I would not do it Kevin. For one thing, all clear coats need the surface to be completely clean. No oils, soap residue, etc. Like alcohol clean. The original paint on there may not like that treatment. Also, most clears are part of a paint "system". Imron clear likes to "melt in" with Imron top coats. I have used it over other paints before, with varying results. Some clears just won't adhere to some paints. I have painted thousands of frames, mostly with Imron, so I am not an expert on what is out there. But I would be very careful before you attempt this "layer of protection". If you are concerned about the decals, perhaps you should consider some thin, clear mylar to cover them up and protect them. Just a thought. All the best. Omar Khiel Oasis Custom Cycles Glendale, AZ
