Ken, the spokes used at the Masi factory were marked with an "S" on the heads. I have always heard them referred to as "S" brand spokes.

They are, to the best of my knowledge, stainless but not so much so that they won't rust. There are many different alloys we call stainless steel and some are more rust resistant than others.
