I don't know why I'm commenting on this subject, but, the method I use has been time-tested for the past 48 years,,i.e., I instruct my wife to do it, whilst I loll back and have a pint of Guiness, Whatever method she uses is probably her secret , but the bikes always look spick and span when I need to go for a ride. She also seems to have the mechanical adjustments down to a fine art ( which reminds me, I think she needs to put a new chain on my red bike )..

So, my method is to trust the wife, providing the food doesn't smell like cleaning fluids later..( I bought her some neat rubber gloves for Christmas )
