Norris, My Braxton was originally equipped with Universal Super 68 brakes that were mounted normally. Since I wanted a brake that would actually slow down my bike, I decided to replace them with Mafac Racers. Only problem was there was no way to mount a centerpull brake in the standard orientation without interference from the integrated rack. So I mounted the rear backward. Works fine. Don't see what all the hub-bub is about.
