Hi Dick,

Up until a couple of years ago I was training on my late 1970s Gios (classic blue color of course), a lugged steel bike with all Campagnolo Super Record. However, long century rides and a handful of criteriums a year were ridden on a 2005 Jamis Eclipse, my first partly carbon bike ever. I purchased that one because of its classic lines, unlike many compact carbon frames nowadays. These days my Gios is in storage and I'm riding a new favorite, my newly built-up late 1950s RIC which was the subject of a nice essay by Ted Earnst of the CR list. I'm fortunate in that most of my riding is in dedicated bike paths on which I can do a 52 mile loop of which only 3 miles are on traffic. In the next few months I plan on building up a gorgeous 1959 Cinelli Speciale, right now it's just a frame, fork HS and BB but I do have most of the parts I need for a build, though it will not be entirely period-correct... but better that than to have it collecting dust.
