Had he talked with me, we coulda brainstormed on adding to his "Built For Speed" legacy. We coulda talked about his discovery of his close African-American relatives.

The most famous African-American who most closely resembles Dave Tesch, I've always felt, is a giant in music education, a guy I quite like:

Methinks our brainstorming -- I gave Tesch the idea to name his dog "Thor" -- woulda shirley taken the "redoubtable dave," the "manic master," to pick up and roll with his new-found African-American side:

It woulda been great. Music in the shop: "Ice Cube could you pass me my steel, for real..." He'd have built a factory in Milwaukee. Then, the first Italian-African-American Mayor of Milwaukee. He'd donate to the local speedskaters, to the local velodrome. Then, he'd retire and finally have time to finish his racing Ford Fiesta.
