I've an early 1950s Hetchins that is completely unrestored with a complete and original 50s Campagnolo group, plus the bike was a rare one owner bike during it's riding life until I purchased from a CR member a few years ago. I do intend to continue to ride her, but also to show at the CR. As it is a British cycle I'm considering taking the Campy group off and going with mostly British componants, Chater Lea chainset, Alp brakes (Thank You Hilary), Harden Bacon Slider hubs on Dunlop Stainless rims, etc, etc. Am I bastardizing an unrestored gem by altering it even though keeping period correct. Opinions valued from list members.
