Is this one thing in favor of non-interlaced spokes? The wheels on my PX have 3-cross spoking, but the spokes do not touch each other. I would think this would make spoke replacement easier, but don't know since I've never broken one on this bike. This is a 36-spoke deep box section Rigida clincher rim with straight 14 gage spokes, so it's a bit overbuilt for me.

Can anyone expound on why spokes are interlaced?
