Dear List:

As I promised (many, many, many months ago) I'm posting some pics of a now old to me frame, a Woodrup Giro touring.  Dates from (I guess) early 80's, but very 70's in style with nutted long reach brakes, full wrap seat cluster and straight classic lugs.  Alas, it may not be a be a Kevin Sayles bike, as the serial # is stamped on the right side (chainrings) of the BB shell: #3943.  If you can add any detail, Kevin, I'd love to hear it, especially details about the Giro Touring model.  The frame built up beautifully with no assembly problems at all.

It really is a beautiful bike, and I consider the frame an archetype for the CR list:  classic looks, a respected builder, very nice lugs without being fussy or blingy, mild quirks (full wrap stays, out of fashion by the 80s), and a beautiful steel ride on the very short test ride I gave it (temp in the low 20's today, once round the block was it).  I apologize for the poor pictures but I shot them indoors (see above re temp outside).  Hopefully in the spring I can add some clearer shots.

There's nothing special about the build up, just good basic riding stuff for day/sport touring.  Campy NR Cranks, Specialized hubs laced to Velocity Dyad rims (aero, but at least they're silver), Campy NR Brakes, BB, headset, seatpost and front derailleur and Suntour VXGT rear mech.

Thanks to Mike Goldman for selling me the frame and Steve Willis for building the wheels.  And thanks to whoever built it. Hoping for warmer weather soon for a longer test ride.
