Subject: [CR] CLIFF SHRUBB ROAD frame on UK Ebay

Hello again...

I've just spotted a very elegant and timeless Cliff Shrubb road frame on UK eBay.

Cliff is one of the highest rated frame-builders in the UK..among those who know what they are talking about. He used to build in the 60s - 90s mainly for other firms such as Alan Shorter and quite a few of the southern and London-based shops.

This frame is probably from the early 80s - just in the CR List time-frame. While Cliff built many very classy lugless time-trialling solos and tandems he also built lugged frames such as the one on sale. A hallmark of Cliffs frames is that they are mostly very understated and minimalist.

The Ebay frame is no exception. It is built with Prugnat long point lugs, fairly simple fork crown, Campag ends, SILVA brake bridge. The fork and stay ends look to be scolloped in the French style Sprayed in darkish blue and overlapping white it carries Barry's transfers

The size is 58cms seat tube with a 56 top-tube - designed for road-racing and short enough for time-trials too.

The current price is £100, and the auction has about 3 and a half days to run
