Subject: [CR] 1972 Chrome Paramount 24-inch P-15 For Sale

Listers:

My small fleet is morphing from high end factory bikes to solo shop bikes. So, the chrome Paramount is on the block; trying the List first.

October 1972 Chrome Paramount P-15 Touring bike; 24 inch frame; SN K72335; fine red lug lining; $1200.

I am the fourth owner of this bike; I put maybe 10 miles on it in several years (too many other bikes); components suggest the previous owners didn't ride it much more. This bike is in great shape: has enjoyed the life of a housecat; no dings or scratches; chrome is bright and sound; all decals in great shape; red Paramount decal; red cables.

All Campy components, but for original Weinmann CP brakes and rims, Cinelli 1A 100mm stem, Cinelli Giro d'Italia bars, Regina Oro Freewheel, Regina Oro chain in great shape, Brooks Pro black saddle (small rivets).

I believe this to have all original components but for: Campy Rally Rear DR upgrade (original 1974 Rally model - the good one); new Schwalbe tires; Matthauser brake pads; new generic brake hoods; bar tape (four rolls of red vintage Schwinn plastic tape supplied, but not sure is it stock equipment for this model)

Bike is a real looker. The lug lining is well done and in great condition. There is an entertaining CR discussion in May/June 2010 about the demise of Paramount lug lining, which was intermittent in this period and did not happen in 1973, per the discussion. Fun theories posed about why it became intermittent and died - vacation schedule/retirement of the lug lining lady, etc. Jerry Moos study of Paramount lug lining was posted during this discussion: See http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/jerrymoos/paramountlugs/?g2_page=2

$100 for packing by my LBS and shipping to CONUS.

Return OK if you decide bike is not as described above.
