Gee, if there are no archives and no digest option, then I will be one of those who will be gone. Darn.

C'est la vie, indeed.

Thank you Alex for all your time and hard work in hosting this group. I can't imagine what is involved but it sounds like you have your hands full with all the groups you host.

Hi folks:

As many of you know, our email list has been a very kind service provided by Alex Wetmore, a private person (vs a company) who just happens to be a cycling enthusiast. He is tiring of the extra attention and problems this has entailed as his many lists (Framebuilders, Touring, etc.) have grown.

So, we will migrate this list to Google lists in the near future. I will send out an invitation to all old members; no one will be automatically added.

This is good in that this is a large & stable service. Bad in that we will see Google ads, lose the Digest version, and I am not sure about archives (do they exist for Google groups?) In fact, I am not familiar with this Google service from an admin aspect, I have heard there are issues with spamming etc., but we will just have to work through it all.

I suspect having no digest, we will lose a few members. C'est la vie, I'm afraid; there is no better option I am aware of...
