{Classic Rendezvous} [CR] Is this DeRosa the real thing? / When is a De Rosa not a De Rosa?

(Example: Production Builders:Peugeot)

I thought I had a vague recollection of this "other" De Rosa. See here: http://search.bikelist.org/getmsg.asp?Filename=classicrendezvous.10408.1432.eml

Not the same De Rosa, but maybe of interest anyway.

The archives are a gift that keeps on giving.

One of my few disappointments in having recently moved from the Seattle area to Austin, Texas, is that the bicycle section in the local version of Craigslist is, by and large, useless. Gaspipe horrors are listed as "vintage" and are believed to be worth $350.00, and are listed over and over and over again. As a result, I take more interest in marginal candidates than I would have in my previous setting.

Take this DeRosa frameset from the mid 80s. Please. Ugly is in the eye of the beholder, of course, but several things about the frame seem to me to be off.

Did Ugo ever use these decals, or the engraving that's seen on the brake bridge and seatstay eyes?
