You might look at the Austin Motel (www.austinmotel.com), which is in the South Congress area. My brother and I got a room for $99 and it was recommended by a longtime resident. Not too far from the show location, I believe.

We rented a couple of city bikes for getting around town from the Bicycle Sport Shop. They have road bikes and mountain bikes as well. http://www.bicyclesportshop.com/for/rentals
