Subject: [CR] FS new Vittoria Vintage shoes
I don't know if these have been mentioned on the list but Vittoria of Italy (not the tire company) is making a vintage looking shoe modeled after their 1976 model. I have them in stock now. See http://www.flickr.com/photos/8379107@N03/sets/72157625899069332/ They are $160 and for CR members I will pay freight and of course no tax for out of staters. Not every size in stock but they come in just a few days if I need them. They are sizes 38 to 47, and in half sizes from 38 1/2 to 44 1/2. I have the Classic in stock which is a Lorica upper and best for wet climates like here, but they also have the Tride which is all yellow or all red leather, and the Bianco Line which comes in nero, crema, and cioccolato with white stitching and sole. The colors may take a little longer as they are making those to order. By the way, order about 1/2 size smaller than you are used to in a Sidi or Detto. I usually take a 41, and that is the size I have on in the pictures, but I could use
a 40.5 as the toe is a little long. 40 is too tight for me though. I would call them narrow to medium width. If you have chubby feet this may not be the shoe for you. They have an SPD sole and come with plugs if you are just using toe clips. In the catalog they also mention Look sole and carbon sole options. I believe those are available on special order too and I can find out the price if anyone is interested. If you can find some kind of slotted cleat that will mount on a Look sole then you can have cleated shoes for toe clip pedals. Get em while they are hot!
