  This may or may not be an opportunity for a "service" to retro some of the classics. I would like to ask if certain and specific tasks could be done.    Although this was supposedly done for weight savings it is the aesthetic appeal that attracts us to the items.  I like "gingerbread" and a bit of panache on a bike. Like leather handlebar tape, it adds some more of a bit of hands-on care that shows.  It is the little subtleties that bring the eye to appreciation of fine art and fine art in a bicycle too.    BT
