Subject: [CR] Woodrup frame numbers update

Anyone with an interest in dating, or finding some info on their Woodrup will be pleased to know I've started compliling data from all the...ragged and tatty record books.

Sadly it seems in the early days [1950s up to the mid 60s] no record was ever made of the frames being produced by Ian McClean, with assistance from Maurice Woodrup.....Steve Woodrup began his framebuilding career under the tutelage of Ian in or around 1968.

Clearly some record books have 'been misplaced'.......the earliest frame number I've found is 749...I've still got hours of research to do and already I know there will be some sizeable gaps with several pages missing.

With all this talk about who made what regarding Pro team frames, or for a particular rider..its interesting to see some prominent names written down...such as on one page there is the entire 'Bantel' team.......Hugh Porter, Danny Horton, Bob Jones, Sid Barras, Reg Smith, Geoff Dutton, Tony Gowland........and the number of shops, or other established frame manufacturers we made frames for, such as Harry Hall, Rotrax, RJ Quinn, R.E.W. Reynolds, Alan Shorter, Geoff Clark, Ellis Briggs, Dentons, Derrick Clark.....and so on........

Eventually I hope to have the entire records updated on the Woodrup website.....but meantime please bear with me, as it will take some time.

cheers
