The entirety of my experience with tandems has been with a blind person for a stoker.

Communication was difficult and most of my stokers were enthusiastic on the pedals but moved around a bunch and straight line cycling was a whippy pipe dream.

My wife of 27 years and I have never been on a tandem together, although she would like to try one of those that allows the stoker to stop pedaling.
