''On Jan. 15, Jobst was involved in a serious biking accident going down hill on Whiskey Hill Rd where it meets Sandhill Rd. Jobst was starting out early at 7:30am on one of his casual day-long round-trips to Santa Cruz. He crashed, was taken to Stanford, and is now recovering at Valley Medical Center. He wasn't wearing a helmet. He had a head injury, but no damage to the spine. He suffered broken ribs, a badly broken femur that required a 40cm titanium rod insert, and has had complications from blood loss and swelling.''
