I'm writing a= n article for Cyclocross Magazine discussing the history
of cyclo-cross tires. From what I've gathered thus far, most riders
prior to 1950 used road tires. In 1950, Clement started manufacturing
cyclo-cross tires, and they were generally considered the gold
standard for tires for many, many decades that followed. I'd like to
learn more about some of the more obscure tires: Barum, Wolber,
Pneudan, Cole(?), Dourdoigne, and some very durable and quite rare
tires that were simply stamped 'U.S.S.R' or 'C.C.C.P'. If y= ou have any
information or photographs of tires used in decades past, I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks.
