I've seen a lot of attempts to raise the value of a bicycle...but nothing quite like this.
This did bring up another question though. I know that Herse made frames with an italian style now and then, but did he ever finish off the stay ends in the italian fashion? Or did he always do it in the french way, with the hollowed edge?
I also wondered what the e-bay frame might be. Be nice to know what the threading was. I could ask what the bb marking is, but I'm not interested enough to do so. Seems nice enough. Hardly worth the value of a singer though.
