Re: {Classic Rendezvous} Cinelli Legerissimo
(Example: Racing:Roger de Vlaeminck)
Jeff,
Wonderful bikes! Do you ride them? What are the tires on the Sarroni?
Thanks

Got my Cinelli Legerissimo frame from Poland today. Dziekuje!! Very
nice!!!
This is the one that was on E-bay and re-sprayed silver over the
original yellow and red. It arrived packed in styrofoam, wrapped in
paper. I unwrapped the paper, only to find the styrofoam wrapped in
black plastic. Under the black plastic was more clear plastic
wrapping. Under the clear plastic was styrofoam, which left little
electro-statically charged balls and chunks all over the floor of my
office. The frame inside the foam was further wrapped in two or three
layers of black, and clear plastic wrap.
Anyway, the frame arrived undamaged. It has a bad paint job over the
original paint. You can see the original yellow and red paint through
the silver/blue re-spray. I am going to attempt to carefully cut back
the silver paint and "excavate" down to the original paint. I doubt I
will be able to save the original paint, but my goal is to exactly
match the paint colors (kind of a school bus yellow and medium tomato
red) and also identify any original Brugelmann decals, and their
placement.
An Italian frame sold by a German dealer, sourced from Poland! To
celebrate, I hoisted a Bitburger while eating Porcini stuffed
Pierogis. The perfect bike for a guy who's father's family is from
Pyrzyce Poland, mom's side is from Cologne Germany, and thinks he's
Italian.
I will be documenting the restoration on my blog,
veloclassics.blogspot.com
Stay tuned.
