Jimmy,

I knew Dave probably as well as anyone at the time. I met him the first day he made it to San Marcos, CA. Dave and I spent many hours together for several years; between 1982 or so and 1987. I'm sure I know a slightly different Dave Tesch than most people were exposed to. Dave was complex and yet very simple at the same time. It never took any effort to get an opinion from Dave. If you were within distance of a telephone you could get it at any time or it could come your way the next time the phone rang. I didn't have to talk much on the phone with him, since we worked within a few feet on one another for a very eventful 5 years or so. But his phone bills were legendary. It's how he stayed connected to the rest of the world back in that period.

I always have a Tesch frame or two around the shop. They come in fairly regularly for paint and repairs.
