Peter -- I have seen and used so much Campag stuff that I would not be disappointed if I never had to use another piece of it..
That being said... I think it would be a BIG mistake to change out your Hetchins... The Brits used anything they could find with reckless abandon... British, French, Italian or whatever. It was probably a status symbol to have the Campag stuff on the bike... I have several old Brit bikes that had proper vintage Campag stuff on them, and have just let them be... It is original -- it is "proper" ! I would certainly not change one that I had and knew the history like this one...
If I was building up a bare frame, I'd undoubtedly go basically British...
Hope all is well -- Cheers -- Nelson
( who just put a TA crankset on a '60 Cinelli -- 'tis a Spence Wolf bike and he evidently liked these cranks -- the one with the wierd shaped cottered crank/axle)
