Dear Bob:
It pains me to disagree with the philosophical pronoucements of the esteemed leader, but if you are going to a 32 tooth rear, the bike isn't a true racing style bike anymore. So why saddle yourself with the weight, expense and subpar shifting of a Campy rally touring rear mech just to be all campy? Go ahead and get a Suntour VXGT for great function at a lower price. Or if you want to have a sexier derraileur, watch for a Suntour Cyclone GT or a Shimano Crane GS, or a long cage Simplex LJ, or a Huret Duopar---. Don't forget you'll also need a longer chain. You can also add a 41 tooth TA inner chainring for a few less gear inches with the money you save not chasing a Campy Rally. Every bit helps.
And don't worry about not getting a second bike. If you vacation to flat lands, swap the NR rear mech and short chain back, change freewheels and you look racer authentic again for about 15 minutes of work (assuming you keep the short chain where you can find it, and it uses a "no tool" masterlink). Or get a separate pair of "touring" wheels to leave the big cog set on, and the change can be even faster, plus you have a spare set of wheels in case of damage. try to keep the same rim width, or you'll have to tinker with the brakes when changing.

Hello Fellow Enthusiasts,
I have a '82 3 Rensho with NR components. The gearing is not low enough for my advanced age and the surrounding terrain. It has a 52/43 crank and a 14/24 Regina freewheel. I think if I can go to a 32t cog that should give me what I need. Does anyone know where I can find the appropriate derailleur and freewheel. I know a lot some would just buy another bike but unfortunately that is not in the cards. Thank you.
