Jim,
Based on the decals (LEJEUNE) and the frame itself, I place the vintage of the all red frame at roughly 1973. The Champion Du Monde (CM) came that year with the same lettering style. The five stripes on the seat tube and the head tube suggest maybe a year or so later as they suggest taking advantage of a world championship and as a result, marketing with the colors in stripe fashion. Prior to 1973, there were some with the blue head and down tube contrast to the red, as I remember it. I bought a near-identical road model (to your red model as pictured) that year, fresh from the factory. The inconsistencies of the frame bits used by LeJeune at the time (parceling out production to various frame builders) makes it tough to be age specific based on such things as brake bridges and fork crowns.
The parts I saw then (on the top road model, the CM) were Campy NR with French threading on the BB and rear hub, as well as French dimensions on the headset and stem base.

art 1 - a mystery. saved these photos from an eBay listing in 2009. thought it was the same frame as the one you built up - identical down to he paint wear. There are few accessories not present in your before photos rear canti brakes - a cable guide etc). Upon closer inspection - the 531 ecal on the down tube is in better shape on this frame than the one in your efore photo. s this the missing twin to your frame? ttp://www.flickr.com/photos/46645062@N02/sets/72157626035187018 Part 2 ttp://www.flickr.com/photos/46645062@N02/5440432616/ his is a frame I bought on eBay. Cycles Sauvage was a specialty line, that as part of Lejeune/ They sponsored a professional cycling team: ttp://www.cyclingarchives.com/ploegfiche.php?id=4268 This frame is older than the Lejeune - I am thinking maybe 1960's? am looking for some advice from the list on: What vintage is this frame? Recommendation for period correct components to build it up? have been searching for a couple of year trying to locate a complete eriod Cyclocross bike - but only seen to find frames. was told by the seller that it had no FD and was only a 5 speed. Does that ound correct? A couple of disclaimers: pologies for the crappy photos - they are from the original eBay listing am not including an image of the head tube decal - so as not to offend odern sensibilities. There have been some contentious postings on C&V Bike orum about this logo being racially insensitive. If anyone would like to ee a photo I can provide that offline. Thanks in advance for any advice. im Lewison inneapolis MN

My darling daughter will be dding it to her already Lejeune- heavy stable, after lowering the seat & tem, as well as changing the bars and possibly redoing the gearing (and ake advantage of that big Deore cage). She wants to tour on it, so it'll robably wind up with fenders & racks. It has no braze-ons, but she wants to ork around this rather than mess up the original paint. I took it out this morning. It is a very nice bike. Has anyone seen a Lejeune cyclo cross bike before? I didn't even know they ade one. -- Michael Shiffer uroMeccanica, Inc. 14 Pearl Street ount Vernon, NY 10550 914) 668-1300 uromeccanicany.com
