Dreams. Right now, all I can ride is fantasy.
When the snow melts, my fierce and delicate wife and I will build up our tandem chops on a red 1980 Bob Jackson that is too beautiful for words and makes us both smile. Her single is an early (mid 70s) Ben-built custom Serotta, all Campy NR that she's had since new. Mine are: a 1957 Frejus track that I've owned for 35 years, constructed from equal parts Libelulla tubing & magic, which I've spent part of this wretched winter bringing back to original spec; a 1971 Olympia Competizione SL 10 speed, all NR which fits me like a skinsuit and which I bought new with my very first bike shop paycheck; a 1962 Frejus TdF with some mildly updated components. I blame this winter on my buying this last bike this last fall. It seemed like it would make a great sloppy weather bike: fine rider, room for fenders & big tires. So Ole Man Winter gets wind of my scheme, sez "Not so fast there, son", and dumps 40" of snow & ice all over my plans.
Gonna dust off the rollers.
