Subject: [CR] Calling all Francophiles: help dating Bobet frame

Confreres,

I got this Louison Bobet frame number 4479 from an old chap who lives locally and said he rode it all over Europe. Can anyone help me work out when it was made and what tubing was used?

- ID of the seat tube is about 26-26.2 mm depending on where you measure it - EDA bottom bracket (stamped in an oval on top, l/h side) - Cable stop on chainstay looks original but...

The frame has been thickly painted in black by a fond amateur who was evidently more interested in protecting the steel than achieving a nice finish.
