I thought it was pretty darn classic, Chris. No one would doubt that Merckx's 1972 bike was a classic, and the new UCI rules are specifically designed to make new attempts use bikes like Merckx's. To inquire how similar the two bikes in fact were strikes me as an excellent "classic bike" question.
