Each generation will have it's own "classics", defined by their own distinct set of rules. Most of our group was raised on a certain fashion of bicycles, but riders today have to look for different identifying marks to distinguish among the flock of similar frames. Perhaps Bianchi realized this when they started inserting those pretty little buttons into the head tube, and their re-introduction of integral headset cups will probably be as memorable to the current generation as those lovely Coppian chrome bulges are to some members of our group today.

At some point someone will tell us "All those bikes from the 1970s were the same!... steel frame, chrome headlugs, Campy dropouts, no braze-ons. The only way to tell them apart is by the headtube badge!"

Someday someone will say "That Pantani Replica was built in August, NOT September! See how the chamfer at the trimvigel is more pronounced, and the stayholder is a larger diameter. Besides, it has an extra 3mm of clearance for the flinger insert collar."
