Hi Jerry,

An elegant solution is to use the Union BB mounted generator. It doesn't require any tabs on the seat stay or front fork for mounting, and is unobtrusive. It's operated by a lever on the seat tube, which is connected to the generator with a gear cable. On my Olmo commuter bike, I managed to obtain a single lever Campy downtube shifter which adds to the elegance by matching those on the downtube. I can send you jpegs of this arrangement if you like, just contact me off the list.

I think the Union bottle generator comes with brackets that will allow mounting to the seat stay without a tab welded to the frame, but they look a little cobby.

Seems we've gone around this loop not too long ago on the list.

Regards,

Larry Strung
