Subject: [CR]Old Logo Campagnolo & Cinelli - Nothing better? Brake Pad dating...

Does anyone know what was going on in the world in 1978 that would cause Campy and Cinelli to change their beloved "World" and "Oval/Shield" logos (respectively) with the later Campy Shield and Cinelli "Flying C???" I can't figure out the drastic change for the worse on almost every component... I know the CPSC mandates hit about this era, but that sure doesn't explain (just one example) going from a stamped SR Rear Der. to a "Silk-screened" version. At least twenty other examples I'm sure.

When did the switch on the brake pads occur? Went from "Campagnolo" on one side and "BREV. INTER." on the other to both sides "Campagnolo" sometime after this dreadful period... Are these even NR/SR or might they be (gulp) Victory or worse?
