no relationship to their regular e-mail identities. Without knowing what their IDs are, I cannot decide whether to defer to them in the bidding.. Can''t think of an easy solution either! Ideas?

My eBay name is "206bones". Don't really know why, it's just something I picked many moons ago when I first signed up (and when the "bike" listings was about 4 or 5 pages long!!). Wasn't really thinking about it in relation to the CR list at the time. I think it would be nice to have a CR list of everyone's eBay name, and will be happy to put one together if those interested want to send me the info. I'll them post a comprehensive list to CR. Any interest? That said, I don't expect any deference or special consideration from anyone on CR, and I probably won't give any if I'm really "after" something. However, I do recognize some of our CR family on eBay and often defer to them (and sometimes even communicate with them) during the bidding. That's just what I do, and usually on a case-by-case basis. Whatever everyone else wishes to do is okay too. To each his (her) own. No worries.

As for the pool on the Confente's final price, that's going to be a tough one. My feeling is that the reserve is quite high, the auction will end without reaching reserve, and a deal will be struck afterward. We probably won't know the final price, unless it's divulged by someone on CR. Sure to be way out of my league anyway.
