One of the Viking Publishing cycling annuals from the late 70's or early 80's chose a similar CB as one of its bikes of the year. I'll burrow a little, see if i still have the article. David Feldman

Jeff at First Flight has a nice looking Claude Butler in his shop for a pretty nice price. I'm slowly starting to cave in to temptation, so I'm inviting someone to scarf up this bike and save me from myself.

Bike is a gold touring model, 60 cm with fenders and lamp bracket. Jeff guessed early eighties, and based on the fork tubing decal, I would concur. Who was making Claude Butlers in the 80's? According to the CR website, CB passed away in '78, but of course he was the owner and didn't build himself (or did he?)

Bike has the look of a Jackson somehow. Prugnat style lugs, nice flat fork crown, God I really don't need another bike but Butler's are cool and it is an English theme at next year's Cirque ---

Some one buy that thing!
