For what it's worth:
I have a pair of gold-anodized Galli brakes, which I would estimate as circa 1980 vintage. The lever bodies resemble Universals, but say Ballila on 'em.
I theorized that Galli must have bought some remnants for cheap.
I bought the brakes at a small European shop in '99 as part of a 'gruppetto' with a set of gold SLJ derailleurs/shifters.
