Strangely enough - some recent researches into my area have turned up information on late 19th Century bicycle races in Greenwood, SC - of all places. Apparently, the same track was used for horse and bike races, and Greenwood's position along the railways made it a moderately popular stop for the coureurs of the day. I know it's right at the dawn of the time period for this list, if not immediately prior to it, but still amazes me.
If I can find enough information (and maybe some photos?) I'll crank out a web page of some sort ...
