Hello All -

Another alternative method of holding a bike - with a standard woodworker's vice mounted on a work bench. Either wheel is clamped in the vice between two 1x4s x 18" long. The other wheel rests on a 1x4 that is clamped to the bench so that it sticks out under the wheel.

I have never crushed a tube or marred paint with this method, but with a little extra tightening, I'm sure the rim could take on a unique shape. ;-).

cheers,
