I remember having one of these on my Moulton 3 speed, purchased about 1961. Never thought it very comfy then, but I am sure my rear end has changed a bit in the interim. Not nearly as much as the bike changed, though. Came crashing to the ground in clips and straps when the fork steerer tube suddenly snapped. Seems there was a bit of a run on that particular failure back in those days. A couple of chipped teeth, and a very bloody nose were suffered. Never trusted the bike again.
