Subject: [CR]Frames for sale

These are the remaining frames from the part collection which I offered to CR subscribers a little while ago. All are unused since restoration. The prices are what I have paid the original owner – there is no profit on these frames! I’m just passing them on.

Raleigh Record Ace (RRA). Early to mid 1950s

Identical to the record breaking Ray Booty bike, this frame has been restored to original factory condition. Although Raleigh were mass producers, the RRA was the top handbuilt model. 22.5 inch centre of BB to top of toptube. 22.5 inch toptube. 41 inch wheelbase. This is absolutely immaculate. Stove enameled in plain dark metallic red with the correct transfers including the gold RRA ones on the seattube and the absolutely correct small 531 decal on the Seattube. Half chromed front and rear forks. Braze-ons include pump pegs and pulley for a Sturmey Archer hub gear. Included with it are the correct Raleigh single chainset, headlock type headset and the correct Bluemels Raleigh Pump and three-quarter length mudguards and Raleigh alloy handlebars. A really good project start for 275 GBP.

Carlton Flyer Track. 1955.

20 inch centre to top. 21.5 inch top tube. 39 inch wheelbase. If you are looking for a small track frame that has very pretty lugwork especially around the seatcluster, then check this one out. It is in silver with all the correct transfers and has newly rechromed front forks and rear ends. It’s drilled for brakes front and rear and comes with a good chrome headset and Chater Lea bottom bracket.

The restoration is let down by two small dents on the side of the toptube which were not filled at the time of the repaint. These are in one of the pictures. Otherwise a very pretty frame. 225 GBP

Ellis Briggs Mass Start 1960.

A road frame with beautiful lugwork and Campagnolo ends but no gear hanger. 21.5inch (centre to top) 22inch toptube. 41inch wheelbase. Braze-ons include Campagnolo Downtube lever bosses and bare wire cable stops on top tube. This very attractive frame is only let down by some pitting under the paintwork behind where the rear brakes and chainwheel will be. Again shown in one of the pictures. Otherwise another very attractive frame in an unusual but attractive colour scheme. 200 GBP

Sending any of these frames outside the UK will cost 60 pounds. I have just registered my other business for credit cards, so in a week, I hope to be able to take cards.

To avoid the problems I had when sending out JPEG’s of the last frames, I have put them up on this website:

By all means ask questions and if you need further photos, then just ask.
