ALAN frames have been around since the late 70's, predating the Vitus by a couple of years. The tubes are screwed and bonded into the lugs, rather than being pressed and bonded , as the Vitus is. Once were rather popular with 'cross riders. I have a couple of old Mel Pinto flyers from '95 and '93 listing a whole range of frames- standard and oversize, aluminum and carbon fiber tubes, road, 'cross and even MTB ! Boy, even seven years ago, who was buying these? Does ALAN exist any more?
