Brandon has a point on that issue. Last year I bought a Mercian off ebay and when it arrived it was too small for my liking by 1/2". At that time I was about ready to put it back on the auction block then I remembered a Syncros stem, although not a classic, that I had that was kind of long and with a 90 degree angle. What the heck, it went on the bike for a trial period and I am happy to say that it did the trick. The bike rides great and it will be a long time before this one parts my company.
