Subject: [CR]Tubular tyres

Sometime in the 80's, I switched to clinchers and I'm real happy with their performance. I still have 4 tubulars from the 80's that I never mounted. Two are Hutchinson Supersprint Butyl, one is a Wolber International and the last is a Clement Futuro. Assuming old tyres are still good (we used to age our tubulars), would someone like to give me $30 for the bunch? Shipping would be extra and at actual cost.

I used to repair tubulars with good results. I used the Clement red stuff for mounting. Rim tapes were easily secured with contact cement. Don't ever remember one coming off but it did seem that after a certain amount of mileage, they just went bad. Maybe this was due to heat, or high pressure but I concluded that every tyre had a certain life and past that point the best of repairs would do no good.

Still riding my old Paramount and PX10 in this delightfully hot Kansas City weather!! Leon Lants
