Covering two topics and in the spirit of what is turning out to be "British Week" ;
S-A Hubs are notorious for leaking out most of the oil put into them during servicing. Those hubs fitted with the sprung loaded flip-top cap seem worse than others and were subjected to some "shop" modifications to cut the leakage down (David Rattray's company fitted a slightly larger version of the Tecalmit nipple in place of the flip-top cap type) and various homebrewed tips appeared to try and prevent it - One was to stuff the oil cap full of cotton wool ! I'm not sure in what year it happened but S-A themselves finally found the solution - Do away with the oil port altogether !
