This sounds like a Magistroni crank, with Stronglight rings. I have seen several cranksets which looked "exactly" like Magistronis but were stamped with bike maker brands. Certainly Atala (on my wife's bike) and I believe also Legnano. Very nice. It was a forged crank, or made to look so, with softer lines than the up-line Stronglight crank.
