The QRs with the snap ring and "coin edge" acorn nuts are Nuovo Tipo.

The Record QRs use the nut, and the loop handle on the acorn nut.

The acorn nuts that belong with the flat handles are shaped in a graceful cone.

The CPSC deemed these "dangerous" so the later QRs have the curved handle and an ugly bulbous swelling on the acorn nuts.
