I think we covered this once before (in the missing archives?) but Giordana bikes were a "house brand" of Gita Sporting Goods, as it still is for their clothing line.. The name is based upon Gita's owner's name , Giorgio Andretta. The road bikes were made by Belato, who made some of the early LeMonds and more recently the Marin road bikes. Giordana complete mountain bikes were made in Japan with the fancier frames by Tom Teesdale. Also of interest is that the Giordana clothing are partly made in the old MOA Sport factory which Andretta bought some 10 years or more ago....
